Gosselies, Belgium – 22 June 2015: Scott Redding heads to this weekend’s Dutch TT at Assen determined to build on a solid performance in Barcelona, where he equalled his best ever result in MotoGP with a seventh place finish.

More importantly the 22-year-old Briton’s performance in the early part of the Barcelona race was significantly improved, with the Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider able to hold onto the battle for fifth place until mid-race distance.

A thunderstorm disrupted a one-day test on the Monday after the race, but it also allowed Redding to do two runs on wet tyres, during which he rediscovered his feeling with the bike in wet conditions. This could prove critical at Assen, where the weather forecast is for rain at some point on all three days of the race weekend.

With the Dutch TT traditionally held on the last Saturday in June, free practice for the MotoGP class gets underway at 09.55 on Thursday 25th June.

“Barcelona was one of my best races of the season so far and we need to build on that this weekend. Assen is one of my favourite circuits; it’s quite fast and flowing with only a couple of tight corners, which should suit our bike better. The aim is to start the weekend strong and then, in the race, try to hold onto the second group for a bit longer. Last week we were complaining about limited track time after a thunderstorm disrupted the Barcelona test, but my feeling with the bike was good in the wet and that could be important this weekend at Assen, where the possibility of rain is always high.”

“Scott did a good job in Barcelona. While it’s true that a lot of riders in front of him fell foul of the tricky conditions and crashed out of the race, what was more important was the fact that he significantly closed the gap to the leading Honda. We need to carry this momentum into Assen, a track that should better suit the combination of Scott and the Honda RC213V, as it’s a fast, open circuit with fewer tight, slow corners. As always the weather at Assen could play a big part in proceedings, but we’ll take it as it comes, because the forecast always changes from one day to the next.”
