Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS riders Jack Miller and Tito Rabat head to the magnificent Mugello track in Italy in upbeat mood and optimistic they can bounce back from a difficult outing at the previous round in France.
 
Miller and Rabat both saw point scoring opportunities slip through their grasp in Le Mans, but that disappointment has made them even more determined to mount a strong challenge in round six of the 2016 MotoGP World Championship in Tuscany.
 
The main target will be to reclaim the lost important points in Mugello this weekend, with Miller demonstrating in Argentina and Le Mans that he has the speed to race inside the top 10.
 
The challenging and technical Mugello layout is loved by Spaniard Rabat, who has been victorious on Italian soil in the Moto2 World Championship in 2014 and 2015. The 26-year-old is confident that his past success will spur him onto a return to the top 15 for a fourth time this season.
 
The Ferrari-owned Mugello track is one of the most breathtaking on the calendar and Sunday’s 23-lap race will take place against the spectacular backdrop of the flowing hills of Tuscany.
 
Adored by riders and fans alike, the 5.2km layout featuring a series of fast and undulating sections and a home straight that will see Miller and Rabat reach top speeds of close to a mind-blowing 220mph.
 
Jack Miller:
“The outcome of the race in Le Mans was not what we wanted but I am actually feeling really good about my race pace. We need to work more on our outright speed but I think Mugello will be a little easier for our package. The key goal will be to finish the race and be as strong as possible throughout the weekend. Mugello is an awesome track and the top speed we get to on the straight is pretty scary and impressive. I can’t wait to see Tito’s face the first time he goes over that crest in sixth gear and then has to pull it up on the brakes for turn one. I’m looking forward to riding there and getting the result I think our speed deserves this season.”
 
Tito Rabat:
“Despite the disappointment of the race in Le Mans, I learned a lot and it was the first time I was able to get into a very good battle with some other riders and pass them before I crashed. I go to Mugello feeling positive and excited to ride a MotoGP bike at one of the fastest and most beautiful tracks in the world. It is a track I really like and I’ve had some success on in the past, but it will be a completely different challenge on a MotoGP bike. I know Jack says he can’t wait to see my face the first time I go down the straight at an incredible speed and brake for the first corner, but I love the speed of Mugello. It is a special track with a great atmosphere and I hope to be competitive and back in the points.”

“After the disappointment and lost opportunities in Le Mans, we head to Mugello determined that both riders will not only finish the race but will also be in the points. Jack has shown on a number of occasions this season that he has the pace to run in the top 10 and I think Mugello is a circuit where it is possible for him to do so again. Tito’s goal is to finish once again in the points, having made another big step with both his set up and his understanding of the bike in Le Mans.”
