Marquez completes positive test in baking hot Brno
Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider Alex Marquez declares himself satisfied after undertaking a successful one-day Moto2 test in Brno
Fresh from taking a hard fought fifth podium of the season in Assen last weekend, Alex Marquez was back working hard on track yesterday in the Czech Republic today.
Gloriously sunny and hot conditions allowed the Spanish rider to work extensively on the set-up of his Kalex chassis in advance of next month’s Moto2 battle in Brno, which takes place on Sunday, August 5.
After an intensive period of riding in four of the last seven days, Marquez is now eager to relax and recharge ahead of what promises to be another strong podium challenge at Germany’s tight and twisty Sachsenring.
Joan Mir did not ride in Brno to save days for a scheduled test session in Valencia shortly before the Motorland Aragon race weekend in late September.
Alex Marquez:
“This test has been very positive to prepare for the race we have at this track after the summer break. We have found some improvements we must confirm in the future, but I’m quite happy with that as it’s not something you find in every test. Now I’m looking forward to the race in Germany. We finished on the podium in Assen but suffered a lot during the weekend, so it was great to enjoy riding the bike again like I did yesterday.”
