The legendary Assen track in Holland completes an intense mid-season run of four races in five weeks this weekend, as Sam Lowes and Tony Arbolino look to enter the long summer break on a high.

• A five-week summer break is on the horizon immediately after the action around the famous high-speed corners of the iconic 4.5km Assen track.
• Moto2 action starts this weekend at 1055am local time on Friday morning with FP1 ahead of round 11, which will be contested over 24-laps at 1220pm local time on Sunday.

• A third place from pole position in an epic podium battle last time out in Germany was the perfect way for Lowes to end a recent difficult run and celebrate his 150^th Moto2 race appearance in style.
• Third from third in 2015 in Assen, Lowes also narrowly missed the podium with fourth places in 2016 and 2021 and he always looks forward to putting on an exciting show for the large contingent of British fans who flock to the northeast Netherlands.

“Assen is a track I love, and I can’t wait for this weekend coming off the back of such a strong performance in Germany where I was on pole and took the podium. Assen is one of those races that is always special, and it will be fantastic to see fans back at full capacity this weekend because they create a great atmosphere and give us great support. I feel like those points we got on the board and being so competitive in Germany has really put some momentum back into my season and given me a big boost going to Assen. It’s a very different challenge to the Sachsenring but my target is going to be fighting for the podium and win again. It will be important to take a positive result into the summer break.”

• A hard-fought 10^th place in baking hot conditions in Germany helped Arbolino cut his deficit to World Championship leader Celestino Vietti to just 38-points at the halfway stage of the 2022 campaign.
• The Italian always relishes tackling the unique challenge posed by Assen and one of his four career victories was secured at the Dutch TT in the Moto3 category in 2019 after he started from the front row.

I won there in Moto3, so I have a lot of great memories and I’m full of motivation to have a good weekend so we can head into the summer break in a relaxed and confident mood. It was a positive first half of the season in which I’ve shown how competitive I can be in Moto2 and I’m sure we are only going to get faster and stronger in the second part. Right now, my focus is only on Assen where I’m convinced we can have a strong race again.”
