Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS lands in Austria with a commanding World Championship advantage after victory for Alex Márquez in Brno, with the firm intention to increase the lead in the standings this weekend.

• The MotoGP World Championship reaches its eleventh round at the Red Bull Ring circuit in Austria. It is a track that returned to the calendar in 2016 after an absence of 18 years.
• Red Bull Ring is the circuit with the fewest corners on the calendar and it’s the one located at the highest altitude (677 metres above sea level) and where riders spend a lot of time at full throttle.
• Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS celebrated its fifth victory of the season in the Czech Republic with the magnificent victory of Alex Márquez. Tom Lüthi's fall and the results of his most direct rivals allowed him to extend his advantage in the overall rankings.
• Brno was also the setting in which the Marc VDS Racing Team achieved the historic milestone of 100 podiums in its history.

Alex Marquez:

• After an imposing victory in Brno where he led every single lap, Alex Márquez leads the overall standings with a 33-point advantage over second placed Tom Lüthi.
• The best result achieved by the number 73 in Austria is the second place in 2017. In 2016, which was year the Austrian circuit returned to the World Championship calendar, Márquez crossed the finish line in sixth place.
• Last year, Alex didn't finish the race having he fell to the ground attempting to overtake Luca Marini to reach the third podium position.

“Arriving in Austria after winning in Brno makes me very motivated. It was a perfect weekend and I enjoyed it a lot on the bike. Our objective doesn't change and we will try and continue working in the same line as before, with our feet on the ground and thinking only race by race. The Red Bull Ring is a peculiar circuit, with strong braking and a third sector with two linked curves where special attention must be paid. It's a circuit I like and enjoy. It is always good to link two races in a row when you are in a positive dynamic, so we will maintain concentration and intensity to be competitive from the beginning of the weekend.”

Xavi Vierge:

• Despite completing a magnificent weekend of work in Brno, Xavi Vierge was unfortunately unrewarded in the race. After a brilliant start that saw him climb up six places, he crashed after contact with Luca Marini. 
• A fall during qualifying following a touch with Steven Odendaal on the brakes at turn 1 at the Red Bull Ring prevented Vierge from competing in the Austrian race one year ago after he fractured a finger in his right hand.
