With a three-week summer break over, the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team is raring to embark on an intense run of races that starts with a special British Grand Prix at the historic Silverstone track this weekend. 

• Tony Arbolino and Filip Salac are excited to deliver some spectacular racing during a milestone weekend that sees the Grand Prix World Championship celebrate its 75^th anniversary.
• Preparations for round 10 commence at 950am local time on Friday morning, while in a tweak to the race schedule, the 17-lap Moto2 race completes the Sunday schedule with lights out due at 1430pm.

• The Italian showed clear signs that he’s returning to his best form when he qualified inside the top six and led for a period of the previous round at Germany’s tight and twisty Sachsenring.
• Aiming to build on some of the confidence gained prior to the summer break, Arbolino is looking for a big improvement on the 10^th place finish secured at Silverstone one year ago.
• Last year’s 10^th place is Arbolino’s best in three previous Moto2 appearances at Silverstone, but he finished in a superb second from pole position in a thrilling 2019 Moto3 battle.

“I feel like I took full advantage of the three-week break to really take time to relax but also maintain the focus on keeping myself in great shape both physically and mentally. I genuinely believe we have a great chance of coming away from Silverstone with a good result to make the best possible start to the second half of the season. We have been working hard in the last races to show our true level and now my target for the remainder of the season is to be consistently fighting for the top places.”

• The summer hiatus was the perfect opportunity for Salac to rest, recuperate and return to 100% fitness after injury forced him to miss the previous two rounds in Assen and Sachsenring.
• The Czech rider started 11^th in Silverstone last August and was involved in an intense battle with Moto2 race winner Celestino Vietti and former Moto3 World Champion Albert Arenas before he crossed the line in 13^th position.
• Salac has scored points in all his three previous Moto2 starts at the long and fast Silverstone track, with a best of ninth in 2022 after a terrific attacking display from 17^th on the grid.

“I am very excited to be racing again this weekend at Silverstone after what has been a long break. Unfortunately, my break was longer than the rest after my injury in Assen, but I feel strong physically and have been able to do a lot of riding recently. I’ve obviously missed a lot of kilometres on the bike in Assen and Sachsenring and this weekend is all about building back up my confidence because it was a big crash in the Netherlands. It is going to be important to not make any mistakes, but we have to manage the need to be recovering feeling and confidence with the need to perform well and the get the best possible result for the team. Silverstone is a very long and technical track and very challenging but I’m ready and looking forward to being back with my crew.”
