Lowes ready for final push in Iberian double header
With the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team and Sam Lowes confirming recently they will be together again in the 2025 WorldSBK Championship, the focus is back on the current season with the penultimate round taking place at the Estoril track in Portugal this weekend.
- Ahead of the season finale in Jerez, WorldSBK returns to the 4.18km Estoril track for the first time since 2022, with Lowes looking to complete a strong finish to his rookie season on the Ducati Panigale V4 R.
- Lowes missed the Sunday race action at the previous round in MotorLand Aragon when a freak accident left him with an injured left shoulder and the 34-year-old has been having round-the-clock treatment ahead of Estoril.
- The action gets underway at 1020am local time on Friday morning for FP1.
“My focus is to finish the season strongly”
“Since the unfortunate incident at the last round in Aragon I’ve been working hard to get myself into the best possible shape for these last two races. I’ve been making good progress and feel the shoulder is improving every day. I’m looking forward to getting to Estoril to see how we can perform. Estoril is another track I’ve never raced at before, so I’m looking forward to the challenge and getting up to speed as quickly as possible. This first year in WorldSBK has gone so fast and now we only have two rounds remaining and my only focus is to finish the season strongly with some positive results.”
