Augusto Fernandez completes intense first day of testing at Jerez
Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS dedicated the first day of official winter testing at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto to improving chassis and electronics settings. Augusto Fernandez is the team’s lone representative at the three-day test with Sam Lowes unfortunately absent due to injury.
- The 2020 pre-season is now officially underway for the Moto2 and Moto3 categories with the first official test at the Jerez-Angel Nieto circuit beginning on Wednesday.
- Fernández completed three productive sessions with a total of 69 laps and a personal best time of 1’41.763. The Spanish rider dedicated the first day to improving the base set up of his Kalex machine, with the emphasis on chassis and electronics settings. The first day also saw the testing of a new front tyre compound that Dunlop brought to Jerez.
- Sam Lowes is unable to participate in the test due to a right shoulder injury sustained during a private test in Jerez last week. The British rider is currently in the process of recovering from the injury and will return to the action as soon as possible.

“We’re focused on getting the bike right”
“I’m very happy with the work and the step forward we took today. We have a clear path to follow and I have felt more and more comfortable and the times have been improving. We still have a lot of work ahead of us. We need to improve the fast lap and the rhythm, but for now we are focused on understanding the bike well and getting a good base of set-up to arrive well prepared in Qatar. We are looking forward to continuing the good work and making more progress tomorrow.”
