Di Meglio ready for strong fight in MotoE World Cup opener
A physically and mentally demanding opening race to the 2020 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup lies in store tomorrow for Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider Mike di Meglio, who kicks off the new season from the fourth row of the grid.
- Searing heat once again dominated the second day of action at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto in Spain today, with ambient temperature for the decisive E-Pole session this afternoon reaching an extreme high of 35 degrees.
- French rider di Meglio set his fastest time of the weekend in this morning’s third and final session, with a 1:49.070 placing him 10th quickest.
- Increased ambient and track temperatures for E-Pole meant lap times were not as quick as those posted in cooler conditions in the morning and di Meglio will start tomorrow’s seven-lap race from 11th on the grid.

“I will try my maximum and hopefully make a positive start”
“It was a very hard E-Pole for us. I felt better this morning and normally I can at least make the same lap time in the afternoon but the conditions were hotter. I didn’t feel like I had the best rear grip in qualifying and it is a pity that I am quite far back on the grid. It will not be an easy race, but I will try my maximum and hopefully make a positive start to the new MotoE World Cup.”
