Estrella Galicia 0,0 celebrates 110th anniversary in style at Catalan GP
Estrella Galicia 0,0 unveiled today the spectacular commemorative livery that both the Marc VDS and Monlau Technical School teams will run on race day at this weekend's Grand Prix of Catalunya.
For 110 years Estrella Galicia have been dedicated to the production of outstanding beers and the occasion of their anniversary received the recognition it deserved on Thursday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Ignacio Rivera, CEO of Hijos de Rivera, together with Marc van der Straten and Emilio Alzamora, revealed to the media and guests present the commemorative livery that all six Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 riders will sport in Sunday's races.
With the design for Sunday, the entire World Championship structure will participate in a milestone that the brand wants to share with racing fans this weekend. The riders are hoping to cap the occasion with podium finishes in their respective races.
Ignacio Rivera:
“This weekend marks one of the highlights of the celebrations of our 110th anniversary. How could it be otherwise, we wanted to move them to the paddock and involve the entire family of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 present in all categories of MotoGP. Therefore all our bikes and riders for this Grand Prix will sport some new colours together with a commemorative logo as a tribute to the 110 years that we have been producing our beers. I cannot think of a better scenario than this to join our celebrations. For us the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Team and MotoGP are very special, as we have grown with our teams and fulfilled our dreams together, forging champions slowly as we do with our beers.”
Marc van der Straten:
“It is a true honour for us to be able to celebrate together with Estrella Galicia their 110th anniversary and to mark it with such a striking livery on our MotoGP and Moto2 machines. It is fitting that we are celebrating such an historic milestone here in the Grand Prix paddock, where the partnership between Estrella Galicia and the Marc VDS Racing Team has been forged over the past two seasons. I wish Ignacio and the company continued success for the next 100 years and I hope we can replicate this success on the racetrack this weekend.”
Emilio Alzamora:
“It is an honour to be part of the Estrella Galicia 0,0 family and to be part of the history of a company with which, thanks to their support and links with the world of motorcycle racing, we are able to celebrate a 110th anniversary. On a day like today, it is important to highlight the work of Estrella Galicia 0,0 in the World Championship, in which their contribution has been -and is- very important for young talents, giving them the opportunity to develop their careers with continuity and achieve their dreams.”
