“We are already in a good way with the new Triumph engine”
“It’s a pity that we only had three hours of completely dry conditions but I am happy because even in that short time we could take some steps forward with the new bike compared to yesterday. It is only the second day but we could understand a lot of things from the point of view of the new Magneti Marelli electronics, particularly on used tyres. My rhythm was quite good and when I was trying to improve on one lap I had a crash but without any consequences for me. I’m happy but we have a lot of things to do and a lot of things to understand with the Triumph engine but I think already we are already in a good way. I didn’t ride this afternoon because the conditions were mixed and when it looked like it was going to dry it started raining again. That was a shame but hopefully tomorrow we will have better weather to learn more about this bike.”

“We’ve already found a good direction with the set-up”
“I’m very happy with the second day of testing in Jerez. The weather wasn’t perfect but we could try many things working with used tyres because we think this is the best strategy to find a good setting on the bike. I only used two sets of new tyres today and the rest of the time just focused on using old tyres and my pace is not so far from the best, which shows we are doing a good job. We’ve already found a good direction with the set-up and it is a pity that the rain came for the afternoon session because we had some interesting ideas to try. We’ve done a good job and step-by-step we are understanding more about this new package and what you need to be fast. Hopefully it will be dry tomorrow but if the rain comes again then it is a good chance to gain some experience of the new bike in those conditions. But I hope to wake up tomorrow and it is sunny and dry.”
