His Biography

Jake started his road racing career in 2010, competing in the Aprilia 125cc Superteens Championship in Britain before advancing to the Aprilia RRV450 Challenge Championship in 2011 and then into the British National Superstock 600cc Championship in 2012.

From 2013 to 2015, Dixon raced in the National Supersport 600 Championship, finishing third in his final year. His chance to run in the British Superbike Championship came halfway through 2016, but injury would end his season prematurely. 2017 was a breakthrough year for Jake as he rounded out the season with two victories, eventually finishing sixth in the overall standings and making a Moto2™ wildcard appearance at the British GP. 2018 proved to be even better for the Brit, finishing runner-up to Leon Haslam in the British Superbike Championship standings.

Making the jump to Moto2 allowed him to prove himself on the world stage, as he teamed up with Angel Nieto Team for the season. Despite finishing in the points just twice that season, it didn’t stop him being recruited by Petronas Sprinta Racing for 2020.

Jake became a regular among the points during the season, narrowly missing out on victory in a wet French GP, as he fell victim to the tricky conditions after holding a commanding lead. A broken wrist forced him out of the final three Grand Prix of the season, and that elusive maiden podium continued to evade him during 2021, but he did manage to fulfil one dream. Filling in for the injured Franco Morbidelli, Jake debuted in MotoGP with Petronas Yamaha SRT at the British and Aragon GPs.

In 2022, he would join the Aspar Team for a pivotal year, clinching podium finishes on six occasions. The British rider would deliver a formidable performance in 2023, securing his first two victories in Assen and Catalunya to claim fourth in the World Championship.

Despite a difficult start to his 2024 campaign after suffering a heavy fall in Qatar, Jake’s season took a turn for the better as he secured three podiums and two victories, including one in front of his home crowd at Silverstone. He ended the season eighth in the Championship Standings.

Jake will begin his latest adventure with the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team in 2025 as Jake and the team eye the championship title.
