Jose Cabanas – CMO, Hijos de Rivera
“Our project in MotoGP has always been characterised by working from the ground up. Since 2011 we have supported young riders and their eventual path to the World Championship, developing values such as effort and team work -without which we would not be where we are today.
This year is a very special one for us. We come into it off the back of our third world title in 2019. Previously, Alex Marquez had made us champions in 2014 and Franco Morbidelli in 2018. This is proof of the success that this philosophy is bringing to the brand and to Team EG00. To have won three world titles in such a short time is a source of pride for us, and I have no doubt that we will once again fight to achieve the next accolade this season.”
Marc Van der Straten – Owner of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS
“In our eleventh season in the World Championship the team is still in perfect harmony and homogeneity. After a good job throughout the winter we are prepared to continue fighting for our dreams. We have two great riders in Moto2 and I am convinced that the experience and speed of Sam Lowes and the talent and enthusiasm of Augusto Fernandez will give us great moments and joys this season in the intermediate category. In addition, this year we will compete in MotoE with Mike Di Meglio once more, who will fight for the title from the first race. I am very happy and proud of my team and I can’t wait to hear the roar of the engines again”.
Jaime Serrano – General Director of the Monlau Repsol Technical School
“In 2020 we start a passionate and exciting season with a lot of motivation and desire to continue supporting young talent. For Sergio Garcia Dols it will be his second season in the World Championship and he has the clear objective of fighting for the Moto3 podium at each GP. In addition, he will be accompanied by a rider with enormous potential, the Japanese Ryusei Yamanaka, from the Junior Team, who, together with Sergio, will have a great season. In the Moto3 Junior World Championship and the European Talent Cup we have also selected promising riders from the most diverse backgrounds, always with the commitment of bringing new talents from the base to the elite of motorcycle racing”.
Sam Lowes – Moto2 Rider
“Despite the unfortunate injury I suffered during the test, I am really happy and motivated by this new project. From day one I have felt very good with my new team so I am really keen to start what I think will be a great season with them. Given the level of the team and what they achieved last year, my goal will be nothing less than racing at the front and fighting for the podium from the first Grand Prix”.
Augusto Fernandez – Moto2 Rider
“I feel great and I am 100% ready to start the season. During the winter I have trained a lot in the gym and I have done a lot of motocross. I feel very strong and eager to work with the new bike and my new team. They have an incredible level and we get along really well. The goal this year is to be among the fastest riders and fight for podiums and victories. My goal is to be among the names challenging for the world title, but I think that will be the consequence of the work we do. You have to do it calmly because the season is very long. If we work well, step-by-step, the results will come”.
Sergio Garcia Dols – Moto3 Rider
“I’m looking forward to this season, especially after tasting victory in the last race of my first year and showing that I can be at the level of the fastest riders. Now I already know the circuits. That will make everything a little less complicated and will help us to concentrate exclusively on achieving our maximum performance”.
Ryusei Yamanaka – Moto3 Rider
“It’s an honour for me to do my first full season in the World Championship with Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Moto3. Last year I was able to take part in several races with them as a substitute and wildcard, and I am looking forward to the first race to continue learning from the best. I hope that my evolution is also positive and I can improve my riding to achieve the best possible results and fight for the ‘Rookie of the Year’ title”.
Mike Di Meglio – MotoE Rider
“My goal is to go for the title. We were close last year, but I made mistakes that made it complicated. Now I know the competition well and where we should focus our efforts on the bike to progress. New riders have joined the series this year and the bikes have evolved, so the championship will be gaining new fans and interest. I’m super happy in the team, we work very well together and I think we can go far”.
Joan Olive – Team Manager of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS
“It’s another year in which we have tried to take care of every detail to give our riders the material and tools that are necessary to achieve the team’s objectives. It will be a very exciting season, since we have two new riders in the box. Both have trained a lot during the winter to start the season in the best possible shape. Our main goal is to remain as a reference in the Moto2 category and fight regularly for the leading positions with both riders.
What’s more, the MotoE project is very special for our team and we believe that Mike Di Meglio will take a big step forward this year thanks to the experience acquired during 2019. Together we will try to be more consistent and learn from last year’s mistakes to attack the championship from the beginning of the season”.
Jordi Arquer – Team Manager of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Moto3
“For this season we once again have rider line up with a lot of potential. After the latest results in 2019, Sergio Garcia Dols is already fully aware that he can fight with the best riders in the championship; we are convinced that this conviction will lead to him getting the best from himself to fight for the best results and be on the podium on a regular basis. Ryusei Yamanaka is ready to make the jump to the World Championship; Last year he was part of our Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 competing in the Junior Moto3 World Championship, which is part of the FIM CEV Repsol series, where he won the race in Valencia. In 2019 we were able to confirm his discipline and tireless desire to improve, as well as his speed on track. Now he has everything he needs to do a good job as a World Championship rider”.
