Di Meglio ready for strong fight in Misano MotoE battle
Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider Mike di Meglio is targeting a top five challenge when the 2020 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup resumes at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli tomorrow.
- Blazing hot conditions that saw air temperatures peak at 30 degrees in San Marino today greeted di Meglio when he started to launch his attack in the E-Pole showdown.
- The Frenchman went into E-Pole with high expectations after he managed to lap one second faster this morning in FP3 than he did when the action at the 4.22km Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli commenced yesterday.
- A best lap in the third and final practice session of 1:44.213 proved to be his best of the weekend, with the hotter conditions for E-Pole making it a difficult task to improve in the one-lap shootout.
- Di Meglio starts the seven-lap encounter from ninth position on the grid and he is determined to deliver a strong result to build confidence ahead of a double-header clash in Misano next weekend.

“Hopefully I can battle for the top five”
“I tried to make a low 1.44 lap and we achieved that, but I wanted more. I have not been fast all weekend in the third sector and that is where you can either gain or lose a lot of time. I’m always inside the top five in the first and last splits but I am losing over 0.3s in the third sector and we have to try and find a solution to be stronger in that part. The bike felt good and strong, but I felt we were missing a bit of top speed on the straights. The good thing is I am very strong on the brakes and hopefully that will allow me to battle for the top five.”
