Joan Mir completed the warm-up session in 22nd position and from eighteenth on the grid knew he faced a long tough race. By lap three Mir was 14th and focussed on a top ten finish which he secured six laps from the finish of the 18 lap race after a long battle with Xavi Vierge. Mir is now sixth in the standings with 155 points.

“Until five laps to go I had a good rhythm”

“Firstly I want to congratulate Pecco Bagnaia and his team on winning the championship, he did an amazing season. For me from the first lap until five laps to go my race was not so bad and I had a good rhythm. But then I had a lot of problems, the same as always. We haven’t found something this year to be competitive and solve that problem. Now I look making good race in front of the fans in Valencia.”

Joan Mir: 10th, +18.547
“I never found the feeling with the bike this weekend”

“This was a difficult race and I never really found the feeling with the bike all weekend, I gave 100% but it was not possible for a better result and now I just hope to finish the season strongly in Valencia and try to be top four in the championship.”
