Di Meglio challenges for top 10 in opening MotoE World Cup practice

Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS kicked off preparations for the delayed second edition of the innovative FIM Enel MotoE World Cup in searing heat at the Jerez track in Spain today.

  • Mike di Meglio made a positive start to proceedings this morning and finished FP1 with the 10th fastest time after completing eight laps on a track surface that peaked at 45 degrees.
  • Under cloudless skies and blazing sunshine, track temperature soared to well over 50 degrees for the afternoon session, despite a strong wind blowing around the 4.4km Jerez track.
  • The Frenchman was still able to lap within 0.6s off his best time in the much hotter conditions and he finished the day in 10th position overall while working to improve rear grip and find better speed on corner exit.

MIKE DI MEGLIO: 10th. 1:49.562, 15 laps

“I’m confident we can be strong in the E-Pole session”

“It was a hard day. We started this morning with the same setting we finished Wednesday’s test with but my feeling on the bike was quite different. I didn’t have the rear grip I expected and we tried a change to the setting that seemed to help. We made a big change for the afternoon session and unfortunately it didn’t work but I’m confident we can be strong in the E-Pole session.”
