Di Meglio determined to mount strong fightback in Misano
Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider Mike di Meglio will start the first of two FIM Enel MotoE World Cup races in Misano this weekend from 17th on the grid after a dramatic E-Pole session this afternoon.
- Seventh in bright and sunny weather this morning at the end of FP1, MotoE World Cup leader di Meglio just missed out on the top 10 in baking conditions during the second 30-minute session after crashing unhurt at turn 14 while on course to battle for the top three.
- Confident he could challenge for the front row, di Meglio’s charge in E-Pole was halted by a big high-side crash exiting the fast turn six.
- The Frenchman was quickly back on his feet but with no time set in the one-lap showdown he will start the first seven-lap race, which is scheduled to start tomorrow at 1615pm local time, from the back row of the grid.

“I will make the best race I can and recover as many places as possible”
“I was worried that I wasn’t going to be fast enough for just one lap after my crash in FP2 this morning but I was just too hot and pushing too hard. It was a mistake and I am very sorry to the team because it means we are starting at the back. My only thought now is to make the best race I can and recover as many places as possible. The first lap will be very important and I will try and manage the situation as best as I can without making any more mistakes.”
