Lowes motivated to deliver big weekend in MotorLand Aragón
Round 10 in the 2025 WorldSBK Championship brings Elf Marc VDS Racing Team star Sam Lowes to one of his favourite tracks on the calendar as the Briton eyes more success at MotorLand Aragón in Spain this weekend
Confidence and expectations are high after Lowes completed a very positive two day test session on board the Ducati Panigale V4R at MotorLand Aragón less than one month ago.
FP1 gets the action underway at 1035am local time on Friday morning.
Lowes heads to Aragon this weekend aiming for a big response after his blistering speed wasn’t reflected in the final results at the last round in France.
The undulating Aragón track is the perfect place for Lowes to storm back into podium contention after he finished top Ducati rider during testing there in late August.
The 35-year-old is also keen to showcase his full potential at the track near the historic town of Alcaniz after a left shoulder injury suffered in an early Race 1 crash last year ruled him out of the Sunday race action.
And there is no doubt a fully fit and in-form Lowes is capable of producing a big performance given the stellar record he boasts at MotorLand Aragón.
During his Moto2 career, Lowes enjoyed fantastic success there with victories in 2016 and a double win in 2020.
“Aragon is a track I love”
“It’s always a nice feeling to be heading to Aragón because it is a track I love and feel we can perform well there. I always enjoy riding at this track and I’ve so many good memories from when I was racing in Moto2. I was pretty fast there a few weeks ago in testing and we also did a lot of good work last week at the Jerez test, so I feel we are very well prepared to be in the mix again in Aragón. Magny-Cours obviously didn’t go as well as we hoped because I had great potential in France without getting the results the team deserved. But we’ve got three rounds remaining this season and I want to make the most of all of them and fight for some important results and that means being in the battle for the podium.”
