Mike Di Meglio closes Jerez test with sixth fastest time

Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS’s French rider completed a useful test, finding some improvements late in the day. After three sessions, Di Meglio is now ready to start the first round of the MotoE World Cup.

  • Electric motorcycles were part of a packed day of official testing at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit ahead of the restart of the 2020 World Championship.
  • MotoE, which was only able to carry out a pre-season test this March ahead of this week, had three sessions of 30 minutes each.
  • The day started with some difficulties for the Frenchman who couldn’t find good rear grip. In the two morning sessions, Mike failed to drop below 1’50.
  • In the third and final session of the day, the situation was turned upside down. Running with a low battery and used tyres, Di Meglio lowered his record to 1’49.617, the sixth best time in the combined times.

“It took us a while to start, but we finished really well”

“It was difficult for us to start, but we finished very well and that makes me very happy. In the morning we had some difficulties. It was a day of adapting to some changes: the new rear tyre, new equipment and a new crew-chief. We had to get everything in order for it all to work. And we succeeded! In the last session I got the good feeling I was used to back. That was then clear in my lap times at the end of the day’s testing. When the battery was low and they tyres were used I set my best time. Ending the day like this is perfect because we know what direction to follow and go into the first Grand Prix of the year with confidence. ”
